Behind every idea are many supporters and Uplift has seen support from many individuals and organisations who share the vision of community owned risk protection systems over the last decade and whose support to Uplift is cherished. 

SWABHIMAAN, Founding Concern


SWABHIMAAN, a Trust based out of Pune and having micro credit and health services operations in Pimpri and Chinchwad is the founding concern of Uplift Mutuals. The idea of Uplift germinated under SWABHIMAAN and it was in 2004 that Uplift was registered. SWABHIMAAN continues to be the support system for Uplift and they share resources to be able to offer technical support at low cost.



InterAide, French NGO


InterAide a Paris based NGO has played a founding role in the setup anddevelopment of Uplift Mutuals. InterAide works with Uplift and its partnerOrganisations in Urban areas to develop the Health Access and Services part and raises funds for the same. IAalso provides on site support to Uplift and its MIU's through its Programme Manager.

TIETO, CSR Support on Management Information System for Mutuals


Tieto India, is a subsidiary of TIETO Corporation, Finland ,a leading IT service company in Northern Europe providing IT and product engineering services.


Uplift's relationship with Tieto goes back to about a decade. This CSR support from Teito has helped Uplift develop in house Management Information system called SYSLIFT that has been the corner stone of Uplift's technical strength in offering data rich systems in Mutuals. Currently Tieto and Uplift are jointly working on developing a more automated MIS for Mutuals named UTTAM.

ILO Microinsurance Innovation Facility, Geneva


Uplift's application to the 5th round of grants to ILO's MIF was selected in September 2011 and as a result  ILO MIF is supporting Uplift in two areas till 2013. The facility has provided grants to Uplift to design and pilot a thrift based Health Mutual product and automate its back office to reduce its claim processing time.
